THE LION AND THE RAM
In a forest there was a big ram separated from its flock. With thick fleece and formidable horns, he roamed the forest at will, terrifying all by his appearance and cry. One day, a lion saw him casually and was frightened at his enormous bulk and heavy fleece and huge horns and edged away thinking, “He must be more powerful than I am, judging from his size, horns and appearance and his wandering about the forest fearlessly.” But, one day, the ram, forced by hunger, was nibbling grass. The lion saw this and said to himself : “What, this fellow is a mere grass-eater ! He cannot equal me in strength. I am the eater and he is my food,” and he sprang on the ram and killed him and ate him.
